DES MOINES, Iowa – Feb. 4, 2009 – CDS Global announced that is has been awarded a contract to provide outsourced transaction management and data capture services to the Laredo Morning Times, a 128-year-old Texas newspaper published each weekday morning and on Sundays. The CDS Global solution enables the newspaper to improve staff efficiency, accelerate payments posting and streamline research of payment enquiries.
Under the terms of the agreement, CDS Global will process check remittances for the newspaper’s circulation payments, and provide an efficient image-based workflow for handling exceptions items such as service cancellations and change of address requests.
Before partnering with CDS Global, posting the newspaper’s circulation payments required a full-time accounting clerk. “There was no tipping point, but we realized that there had to be a better, more efficient way to process these payments,” said Thelma Aguero, assistant controller, Laredo Morning Times. “We selected CDS Global based on the positive feedback and recommendations of other Hearst newspapers. And the conversion process went very smoothly, with few issues and no errors.” Through its partnership with CDS Global, the newspaper was able to quickly free up its accounting staff to focus on other tasks.
In addition, CDS Global’s online research tool has enabled the newspaper to respond more quickly to customer enquiries by providing images of processed payments within moments.
