Wenner Media

The client

Founded in 1967, Wenner Media is the publisher of Men’s Journal, Rolling Stone and Us Weekly magazines. Since then, Wenner Media has expanded with a burgeoning new group of special interest publications and continues to see exponential growth of mensjournal.com, rollingstone.com and usmagazine.com.

The pain point

Wenner Media needed a way to target suspended or inactive subscribers who paid for subscriptions but were not receiving them due to an undeliverable address on file. Additionally, they wanted to preserve their database and build upon current customer relationships.

The solution

CDS Global, in partnership with CognitiveDATA, Inc., developed ReAddress, a one-of-a-kind product that reduces undeliverable mail to a client’s customers. This knowledge-based matching system uses thousands of sources and billions of transactions on every household in the U.S., correcting undeliverable addresses that are not reported through traditional tools available from the USPS® with an over 99 percent accuracy level.

The result

“By taking the initiative to reinstate highly qualified subscribers, ReAddress allows us to not only deliver better customer service, but proactive customer service in order to satisfy our customers’ needs,” says Mike Sheehy, director of Circulation at Wenner Media. Immediately, Wenner Media saw impressive results and found a number of inactive or suspended subscribers with the CDS Global solution. Over time, Wenner Media could reactivate up to 20 percent of their customers by finding new or materially improved addresses, allowing them to fulfill merchandise requests, reduce acquisition needs and increase revenue.

The bottom line

With this strategic partnership in place, CDS Global has created a solution to help Wenner Media stay connected to their customers, which will help to ensure future growth and add value to their bottom line.
